Using a cluster of netbooks researchers have created a powerful server architecture that draws less power than a lightbulb.

The open source Grid Computing platform, JPPF, has announced that it has reached version 1.8 and also announced integration with GigaSpaces to give it a lot of the features it was missing such as clustering, replication, transaction management, data access, etc.
